Jazakumullahu Khairan for this, it’s so enlightening.
I’ve never really viewed procrastination from this angle, I’ve always thought it’s a flaw on people’s end, but now it makes sense. The battle of wills, the comfort that comes with postponing an act till later, the anxiety, and so on.
May Allah make it easy for us all and save us from the trap of Shaytan.
"ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا وَيُلْهِهِمُ الْأَمَلُ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ"This ayah wasn't just about disbelievers of the past. Every time you say "I'll start Monday" or "after Ramadan" or "when things settle down" — الأمل has you. You are eating, enjoying, and being distracted — while time moves without you.
I couldn't agree more with "destroy the word "later" immediately." Reflect on my experiences, I failed every disciplenes that I tried to consistently build. It's not about trying to be perfect, it's just me the one who underestimated it because of "I can do this later" as if I have much time.
Masyaallah, thank you very much for helping me reflect and think
I swear I was just thinking about procrastinating something and I came across your post Subhanallah… changed my mind so quickly. May Allah bless you endlessly<33

Procrastination is stopping you from living in the present. In the here and now and that is why it is so damaging. Great article!
